Coconut Plantation at Ko Olina
The site was designed with an “inside” and “outside” type of layout. The “outside” bungalows are oriented towards the golf course for vacation owners and are more private, focusing on views. The “internal” portions of the site focus on activity areas and are linked by a connected pathway to the main recreation area. A variety of building types from duplex townhomes to flat / town combo buildings were designed, both for their scale and massing, and for marketing and sales demand. Open and light-filled plans include garages side loaded to improve the street scene. Inspired by historical plantation-style Hawaiian villages, architectural detail and refinement exceed that usually found in this price range. The character is relaxed and fun, with an architectural integrity relating to the context and feel of Hawaii.
