Newport Beach II
On an extremely tight infill lot, a home was created for a couple with one teenager that maximizes light and openness, while maintaining privacy from the alley to the rear and adjacent houses. The public portions of the home are designed to be open and connected to outdoor spaces and courtyards. The entry was located midway back to encourage interaction and open living space. Interiors were designed to be upscale casual and reflect the architecture of the beach area location. Exteriors were designed to be comfortable and timeless with crafted detailing down to door knobs and window trim. Views out of the home were framed and placed to avoid staring into adjacent neighbors, while still maximizing openness and reflecting the warmth of the family living within.
